RunAnyRule for Outlook

Purpose

As you know, in the classic Outlook for Windows, rules can run automatically only in the "Inbox" folder (for ingoing messages) and in the "Sent Items" folder (for sent messages). You can manually (but not automatically!) execute your rules in other folders.

This add-in for Outlook allows you to manually or automatically run the set of rules in any folders.

To run the rules manually you have to click the Run button in the "RunAnyRule" group. Green border around the "Run" button icon indicates that the rules are executed automatically.

RunAnyRule add-in also can set if the given rule will be applied to all messages or to only read messages or to only unread ones.

The application is a COM add-in for Outlook.

Installation

1. On a client workstation where Outlook is installed download RunAnyRuleSetup.zip archive file and extract all files to C:\Program Files\IvaSoft\RunAnyRule directory.
   Exit Outlook in case it is running, run RunAnyRuleSetup.exe and follow the instructions.
    
2. Start Outlook and click File > Options > Add-ins. Select "COM add-ins" in the Manage: listbox (at the bottom of the page) and click the Go button. Make sure that RunAnyRule is in the list and it is checked.
   

   

Testing

• Run Outlook and click a small arrow in the lower right corner of the "RunAnyRule" group in the Explorer ribbon:
  

  

  RunAnyRule options window will appear.

  

  Assign the folders to each rule. Set "Apply to:" value. Check the rules you need to run after clicking the Run button. Click the Close button to exit RunAnyRule options.

• Click the Run button of the "Junk Rules" group. Make sure the rules were executed.

Uninstallation

Click Start > Control Panel > Programs and features. Select RunAnyRule in the list. Right-click and hit Uninstall. Follow the instructions.
 

What is the difference between the free version and the Pro version?

The Pro version allows you to run the set of checked rules manually and automatically. You can set the frequency with which the set of rules is executed.

The free version allows you to run the set of checked rules only manually, by clicking the Run button.
