Purpose
In the classic Outlook for Windows, rules can run automatically only in the "Inbox" folder (for incoming messages) and in the "Sent Items" folder (for sent messages). In other folders, rules can only be run manually.
The RunAnyRule add-in runs rules against any Outlook email folder, either manually or automatically.
Click the "Run" button in the "RunAnyRule" group to run the rules manually. When the "Run" button icon has a green background, rules are running automatically.
It can also filter by message status: all messages, read only, or unread only.
The application is a COM add-in compatible only with classic desktop Outlook for Windows. It does not support the new Outlook for Windows.

Installation
- Exit Outlook if it is running. Then download the RunAnyRuleSetup.zip, extract all files to C:\Program Files\IvaSoft\RunAnyRule, run RunAnyRuleSetup.exe, and follow the instructions.
- Start Outlook and click File > Options > Add-ins. Select "COM add-ins" in the Manage: list box (at the bottom of the dialog) and click the "Go" button. Verify that RunAnyRule appears in the list and is checked.
Testing
- Open Outlook and click the small arrow in the lower right corner of the "RunAnyRule" group in the Explorer ribbon to open the RunAnyRule options window.
- Assign the folders to each rule by setting the "Apply to:" value. Select the rules you want to run when clicking the "Run" button. Click the "Close" button to exit the options window.
- Click the "Run" button of the "RunAnyRule" group. Verify that the rules ran as expected.
Uninstallation
You can uninstall the add-in via Settings > Apps — labeled "Installed Apps" in Windows 11 or "Apps & features" in Windows 10.
FAQ
What is the difference between the free version and the Pro version?
The free version only runs your selected rules manually, by clicking the "Run" button. The Pro version also runs them automatically, with a configurable frequency.
How can I upgrade from the free version to the Pro version?
Open the RunAnyRule options window and click the "Register" button. The "Register RunAnyRule" dialog will appear. If you know your Registration Name and Registration ID, fill in the appropriate fields and click the "Close" button. Verify that "Version X.X.X.X Pro" appears in the status line. If you do not have the registration information, click the "Order Online" button.
