Purpose
This add-in automatically forwards any email placed in a designated subfolder to the email address specified by that subfolder's name.
Users create a top-level folder named "DropToForward" and add subfolders inside it, each named with a destination email address.
The application is a COM add-in compatible only with classic desktop Outlook for Windows. It does not support the new Outlook for Windows.
Current version: 1.0.1
Installation
- Download and extract DropToForward-DEMO.zip. If Outlook is running, close it before running DropToForwardSetup.exe and following the on-screen instructions.
- Start Outlook and click File > Options > Add-ins. Select "COM add-ins" in the "Manage" list box (at the bottom of the dialog) and click the Go button. Verify that DropToForward appears in the list and is enabled.

- Create a top-level folder named "DropToForward". Right-click the folder, select Properties, and enter "DropToForward" in the Description field.
- Inside the "DropToForward" folder, create a subfolder for each destination, named with the recipient's email address.

Testing
- Select any message from your Inbox and copy it to any subfolder of the "DropToForward" folder. Confirm that the forwarded message is delivered to the recipient.

- Check that the original (dropped) message is in the "Deleted Items" folder. If you wish to delete it permanently after forwarding, add the tag "CleanDeletedItems" to the "Description" field of the "DropToForward" folder.
- Verify that the forwarded message is in the "Sent Items" folder. If you wish to delete it permanently after forwarding, add the tag "CleanSentItems" to the "Description" field of the "DropToForward" folder.

Demo Version Notes
This demo version appends the tag [DropToForward_DEMO] to the subject line of each forwarded message. The full version forwards messages without modifying the subject line.
Uninstallation
You can uninstall the add-in via Settings > Apps — labeled "Installed Apps" in Windows 11 or "Apps & features" in Windows 10.
