Purpose

A Power Automate flow that moves emails written by real people into a separate Inbox subfolder, HumanEmails, and leaves newsletters, notifications and auto-replies where they are.

The flow requires Microsoft 365 with Exchange Online, and Power Automate with an Office 365 Outlook connection. It runs on your own mailbox.

Installation

  1. Download the "humanemailselectorflow1.zip" file.
  2. Open Power Automate and import "humanemailselectorflow1.zip", following the Power Automate documentation.

  3. Check that the trigger’s Folder field is set to Inbox and that Split On is turned on.

  4. Turn on the flow.

Testing

  1. Send a test message to your mailbox from a real person’s email address (not a no-reply or automated address).
  2. Open Outlook and verify that the message has moved to the HumanEmails folder.

  3. In Outlook, send a test message to a non-existent address (for example, aaa@bbb.ccc). Wait for a non-delivery report (NDR) to arrive.
  4. Verify that the NDR stays in the Inbox.
