FilterExternalEmail flow for Office 365

Purpose

FilterExternalEmail flow segregates external emails from internal ones that arrive in the user's inbox. The flow is compatible with any Office 365 user's personal mailbox.

Installation

1. The flow uses the "Office 365 Outlook"connection. On the next step use your existing connection or create a new one.

   

2. Download FilterExternalEmail1.zip file. Run Office 365 Power Automate and import the FilterExternalEmail1.zip file into your flows list as described here.

   

3. Select the folder "Inbox" within the trigger "When a new email arrives (V3)" as shown below.

   

4. In Outlook create the top-level email folder "Inbox - External".

5. Select the folder "Inbox - External" within the "Move email (V2) - select the target folder here!" action as shown above.

6. Modify the "When a new email arrives (V3)" trigger as shown below.

   

7. Turn on the flow.

   

Testing

1. Send an email from any external mailbox and make sure it is moved to the "Inbox - External" folder.

   

2. Send an email from any internal mailbox and verify it remains in the Inbox.
