Purpose

This flow moves incoming emails from the Inbox to subfolders within it, based on a substring of the Subject line. The array containing the "substring-subfolder" pairs is located in the "Compose Rules (parameter)" action.

Installation

  1. The flow uses the "Office 365 Outlook" and "Office 365 Groups" connections. When importing the flow, use your existing connections or create new ones.

  2. Download the "SortEmails1.zip" file.
  3. Open Power Automate and import "SortEmails1.zip" as a new flow, following the Power Automate documentation.

  4. Turn on the flow.

Testing

Note: This test assumes your "Compose Rules (parameter)" action contains the data shown in the picture above.

  1. Open Outlook and create the subfolders "project1" and "project2" under Inbox.
  2. Send a test message with the subject line "SortEmails test 1 PRJ 1" to your address.
  3. Verify that the message has been moved to the subfolder "project1" under Inbox.
